Boosting your immune system this Fall

With Summer slowly coming to an end, a lot of parents are starting to look forward to their child(ren) heading back to school. But with that comes all the colds and flus the children seem to bring home anew each Fall.

During the Summer months most children don’t find themselves around as many other children as they would while they’re in school, and for the most part we tend to spend most of our time outdoors. Spending time outside allows our body to soak up all the glorious sunshine and create Vitamin D! Which helps to overall boost our immune system and improve our mood.

Once the kids return to school, all of a sudden they find themselves cooped up in a classroom for the better part of the day. The days get shorter, we spend a lot less time outside and more often than not the weather isn’t quite as nice as it was throughout the Summer. When you combine all of that and it’s not hard to see why so many children come home with so many different bugs each September.

But did you know that there are several things you can start doing now, to help boost your child’s immune system (as well as that of the rest of your family!) to prevent a lot of these bugs from making the round in your home?

“The immune system constantly creates genes on the fly that are specific to the things that show up in the body. It’s amazing” – Author: Erez Lieberman Aiden
